Girly drinks?

I was at a concert last night and was very disappointed to see the abundance of tattooed, young wanna-be types sporting a foo foo drink in their hand.  Whether this is an attempt at getting in touch with their feminine side or just trying to be supportive of their female companion I do not know.  What I do know is that it is very sad to see individuals choose this form of beverage over a well crafted brew.

I really am hoping that this is a one time occurrence that will not be repeated.  The question I propose to you all is why? Why the need to drink something that has an umbrella in it?  Who is to blame for this atrocity?

  1. LOL nice. Nothing wrong with a girly drink once in a while (within the confines and privacy of your own home of course). I tend to prefer a good gin on the rocks when at a bar because most places are stocking bud lite nastiness...

  2. I blame Mary Poppins and the whole spoon fulla sugar helps the medicine go down attitude (which is also probably where the umbrellas came from!). I mean what ever happened to growing some fuzz and taking you medicine like a man?...Straight up! Well I guess that's what you get for going to a Lady Gaga concert.

  4. lady gaga classic......and you posed the question why? nah on a more realistic note, even when i get crown or jameson on the rocks/neat i typically only use the straw for stiring....with that said im not much help, my women does't even like the girly unbrella drinks......beer all around for us.

  5. i agree with you on the girlish drinks. i dislike most "girl drinks"...that's why i stick with gin or whiskey. I DO LOVE BEER! I'm finding myself liking the darker beers now...and will always have the itch to try them...

  6. We all know exactly why these lily pad lads sit sipping a fuzzy navel or better yet a buttery nipple. Someone wise once said, you are what you drink. Let them wade in the kiddie pool, I will drink from the fountain of brews.
